The Heat
The single most frightening experience of my career.
Putting yourself on the line in this way is not for the faint-hearted. You're inviting an audience of millions to judge you. And four individuals who hold your fate in their hands.
So why did I do it?
Having enjoyed a 30 year career, I wanted to make my dream album: orchestra, classical choir,
songs that connected me to my father, who had passed away from Alzheimer's the year before.
When I walked out on stage, I felt my father with me. I had an out of body experience that day in Birmingham. It's impossible to describe.
The audience got behind me. Thankfully, the judges got me.
Semi Final
In the weeks that followed the Semi Final of the show, I was overwhelmed by an outpouring of generosity and love.
Thank God for my family, close friends, and the ever-loyal musical theatre community for picking me up, supporting me and getting behind the crowdfunding campaign that brought my dream album to fruition. x
